LDA Announces Plot Verification for Transportnagar Scheme

In a significant development, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has issued a notice regarding the potential cancellation of 292 plot allocations in the Transportnagar scheme. The issue arose due to a lack of official records associated with these plots. As part of a thorough review process, the LDA has requested current plot occupants to submit allocation-related documents for verification.
If the submitted documents are verified as valid, the plot will be retained by the current occupant. However, those who fail to provide the necessary paperwork within the next month will face cancellation of their plot allocation, and the plots will be sold via e-auction. This decision follows an investigation that uncovered fraudulent registrations linked to 17 plots, with 13 identified as fake. This prompted the LDA to file an FIR and sparked a larger review of the Transportnagar scheme, which was launched in 1980 and currently comprises approximately 1,900 plots.
These plots, typically ranging from 50 to 1,000 sq.m, are primarily used for warehouses and business agencies. The internal review has brought to light the absence of documentation for 292 of these plots. LDA’s additional secretary, Gyanendra Verma, emphasized that the responsibility for any discrepancies lies with the occupants themselves.
To ensure transparency, a public notice has been released, and the list of disputed plots has been uploaded to the LDA website. Additionally, hoardings have been installed throughout Transportnagar to increase awareness. Occupants are urged to submit their original documents within one month to avoid losing their plot rights.
