“Uttar Pradesh is planning to introduce a new law, “UP Town and Country Planning Act”,inspired by Gujarat, to boost urban development. This law will create a special office to manage development in cities and towns. It will also help define what the government and local communities should do to grow cities and towns together.

The new law will make sure that building rules are the same everywhere and will also make plans for how towns and cities should grow. It will work with the housing department to improve roads and connections to far-off areas.
Areas outside city limits will be managed by a special authority created by this law”UP Town and Country Planning Act”. The government can also turn local bodies into these special authorities to enforce the rules.
The housing board will continue to work as usual and build homes in places where there is land available. In areas on the outskirts, the government will build roads and other basic things without making any profit. The land will be shared between farmers and the government based on a set plan. This will help the local community sell the land once it is developed.
The new law will be shared online for feedback until March 31, and then new rules will be made based on public suggestions.”
