UP RERA QR Code: Enhancing Transparency in Real Estate Projects
The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) has introduced a new measure to enhance transparency in the real estate sector by assigning unique QR codes to all new projects and those with valid registrations. This initiative aims to provide homebuyers with easy access to detailed and verified information about real estate projects through the UP RERA QR Code.
Buyers can scan the QR Code to retrieve comprehensive details about the projects directly from the UP-RERA portal. These details include land documents, approved layouts and maps, project specifications and amenities, start and completion dates, bank account details, information about promoters and co-promoters, registered agents, quarterly progress reports (Q.P.R), Occupancy Certificates (O.C), Completion Certificates (C.C), and other requisite NOCs.
To ensure that the benefits of this facility reach consumers, UP-RERA has mandated that promoters include the QR Code on all documents shared with allottees, such as booking forms, allotment letters, and builder-buyer agreements (BBAs). Additionally, the UP RERA QR Code must be featured in all promotional and marketing materials.
Sanjay Bhoosreddy, Chairman of UP-RERA, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “To ensure that consumers readily get complete and correct information about the project and the promoter, we have assigned a unique QR code to the projects. It is now mandatory for promoters to include this QR code on all documents shared with allottees and in all promotional materials.”
This move addresses a significant issue faced by homebuyers, who previously had to rely solely on information provided by promoters or real estate agents. With the introduction of the UP RERA QR Code system, the same advertisements that promote the projects will now serve as a reliable source of verification, empowering consumers and fostering a more trustworthy real estate market in Uttar Pradesh.
