Greater Noida to Allocate Residential Plots to 615 Farmers

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has announced that it will begin allocating developed residential plots to 615 farmers from seven villages within a month, following the recommendations of a government-formed panel. This move is part of ongoing efforts to address farmers’ demands for developed plots and increased compensation.

In February, the government established a three-member committee led by the chairman of the revenue council, with the Meerut commissioner and the GB Nagar district magistrate as members, to resolve the concerns raised by farmers. The committee’s report has now been submitted to the government, and GNIDA is swiftly implementing its recommendations.

On December 7, a meeting was held with key officials, including Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and DGP Prashant Kumar, who provided further instructions to streamline the process. As a result, GNIDA’s CEO, NG Ravi Kumar, has directed the land records department to expedite the allocation of plots.

The first phase of the allocation will involve 615 farmers, with the process expected to be completed within a month. Additionally, GNIDA will organize camps from December 14 onwards in 62 villages to determine the eligibility of 3,532 other farmers. The initial two camps will be held in Sirajpur and Kailashpur villages.

This initiative is a significant step toward resolving the ongoing protests by farmers, who have been demanding better compensation and timely allocation of residential plots for the past two weeks.
