Noida Public Transport: CONRWA’s Push for Enhanced Last-Mile Connectivity

The Confederation of NCR Residents Welfare Association (CONRWA) in Noida is advocating for improved last-mile connectivity for residential sectors along the Noida expressway. With limited public transport options, residents rely heavily on their own vehicles or cab services for commuting.

CONRWA’s president, PS Jain, has reached out to the Noida Authority CEO, urging the proposal of e-bus routes until a dedicated Noida public transport system is established. The association has also contacted Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, and UP infrastructure commissioner Manoj Kumar Singh regarding this issue.

Noida, comprising over 150 sectors, including around 100 residential sectors, lacks a comprehensive Noida public transport service. Despite the convenience of the metro, residents often struggle to find convenient transport to reach metro stations, resorting to autos, e-rickshaws, or multiple modes of transport, which can be costly and time-consuming.

CONRWA is requesting increased availability of e-buses, autos, and e-rickshaws in sectors 92, 93, 100, 134, and 140, among others. Sectors like 55, 56, 48, 47, 122, 115, 117, 77, and 75, which lack DTC and private bus services, also need attention. Although some buses passing from Ghaziabad to Hapur via Noida are accessible to residents, the long travel times and indirect routes prompt many commuters to opt for other modes of transport, such as autos, which can be expensive for short distances.

CONRWA’s efforts highlight the pressing need for improved last-mile connectivity in Noida to enhance residents’ commuting experience and reduce dependency on personal vehicles and costly cab services.
