DSIIDC Bawana Flats Registration Process Begins for 4,350 Units

The Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) has initiated the process of completing formalities for approximately 4,350 unallotted and unoccupied flats in northwest Delhi’s Bawana. These flats, constructed in 2010-11, were intended to accommodate workers from nearby industrial areas such as Bawana and Narela. However, the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) objected to the sale of these flats without proper registration, prompting DSIIDC to take corrective measures.
In response to RERA’s objections, DSIIDC is now engaging consultants to prepare and submit the necessary site plans, drawings, and obtain approvals and non-objection certificates from various authorities, including the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Delhi Urban Art Commission, Delhi Fire Services, Delhi Jal Board, and the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). Additionally, occupancy certificates for the completed low-cost group housing industrial flats will be secured. This step is crucial for the DSIIDC Bawana flats registration process.
Originally, DSIIDC had argued that these flats were built before the establishment of RERA, but this argument was rejected. The agency is now hopeful that by engaging consultants, the required formalities can be completed within six months, allowing them to reattempt selling these low-cost flats to workers in the vicinity.
To address security concerns, DSIIDC is also in the process of hiring security guards for its housing projects across the city. These security personnel will be responsible for protecting the flats from theft, breakage, and illegal occupation. They will also ensure the replacement of any stolen or damaged fittings and fixtures. This security measure is essential to maintain the integrity of the DSIIDC Bawana flats registration process.
This initiative aims to revive the utilization of these flats, which have been in a dilapidated state due to being unoccupied and partially constructed. By meeting RERA’s stipulations and enhancing security, DSIIDC hopes to successfully allocate these flats to the intended beneficiaries.
