YEIDA Revenue Growth Climbs Despite ₹1,301 Cr in Expenses

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) reported a significant YEIDA revenue growth in the first half of the fiscal year, with earnings reaching ₹982.51 crore. This marks a substantial increase of over ₹200 crore compared to ₹708 crore during the same period last year.

However, YEIDA’s expenditures exceeded its revenue, with total spending reaching ₹1,301 crore. A large portion of this, around ₹799 crore, was dedicated to land acquisition—more than double the ₹362 crore spent in the same category last year. YEIDA is focusing on creating a robust land bank to support future projects along the expressway corridor.

Notably, airport-related expenditures also saw an increase, rising from ₹164 crore last year to ₹204 crore this year. Development work expenses saw a slight uptick as well, climbing to ₹214 crore from ₹210 crore in the previous period.

One of the key drivers of the YEIDA revenue growth was the sharp rise in group housing projects, with revenue from this segment jumping from ₹31 crore to ₹446 crore. This surge was largely fueled by the state government’s rehabilitation package for stalled projects, based on the recommendations of the Amitabh Kant committee.

Other revenue sources during this period included ₹270 crore from industrial projects, ₹10.14 crore from commercial developments, ₹63 crore from institutional sectors, and ₹114 crore from residential plots.

Looking ahead, YEIDA has set an ambitious land acquisition budget of ₹6,063 crore for the current fiscal year, part of its larger ₹10,000 crore budget. A proposal to acquire 1,700 hectares of land has already been submitted to the district administration, aimed at building a substantial land bank for future developments along the expressway.
