Noida Authority’s Successful Land Reclamation Drive: Reclaims 56,885 Square Metres of Land from Illegal Colonisers

The Noida Authority recently concluded a successful land reclamation drive, reclaiming 56,885 square metres of land from illegal colonisers across eight villages. This reclaimed land, valued at approximately ₹236.80 crore based on prevailing market rates, was being used for unauthorized housing or commercial projects.

Under the leadership of CEO Lokesh M, joint teams from the land and civil departments conducted a month-long land reclamation drive from March 12 to April 13. The drive targeted areas such as Sadarpur, Salarpur, Sorkha Jahidabad, Mamura, Gulavali, Assadullapur, Moyiyapur, and Garhi Samastipur. During the operation, 17 khasra numbers (land record numbers) were identified where unauthorised structures had been erected without the necessary permissions.

According to a Noida Authority official, as per the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Act-1976, no individual or company is allowed to carve out plots or develop buildings without obtaining the necessary approvals. The authority has notified these lands for planned development in Noida, and any construction within this notified area requires approval of building maps and permissions.

The authority has been vigilant in issuing public notices, warning against purchasing plots in these illegal projects. Violators are subject to having their structures demolished. This action aims to curb illegal land grabbing and ensure that development in Noida follows the prescribed legal procedures.

The Noida Authority’s land reclamation drive reflects its commitment to maintaining the integrity of its land and ensuring that development in the region adheres to legal and regulatory requirements.
