Residents Of Adani Aangan Protest Over Safety Concerns

Residents of Adani Aangan in Sector 89A, Gurugram, have staged a protest against the developer due to unresolved safety concerns. The protest follows over a month of complaints about a boundary wall issue that has led to significant soil erosion, threatening the structural integrity of one of the towers in the residential complex. Despite repeated requests for action, residents claim that the developer has not addressed their concerns, leaving them feeling unsafe.

The issue began with a small area of the boundary wall settling, but it has since escalated, posing a serious risk to the nearby tower. This is not the first incident; a similar problem occurred last year, causing damage to a vehicle. Residents are demanding immediate corrective measures, including reinforcing the boundary wall, stabilizing the eroded soil, and assessing the potential impact on the tower.

Adani Aangan, launched in 2016 with possession starting in 2021, spans 6 acres and includes eight towers with 1,050 flats, of which 950 are occupied. In addition to the boundary wall issue, residents have raised other grievances, such as the lack of a 33 kV electricity connection and reliance on a borewell with high TDS levels, which damages RO systems.

Residents express disappointment with the developer, feeling their expectations have not been met. Sanjeet Kumar, a resident, mentioned that the ongoing issues have shattered their confidence in the developer, leaving them with no choice but to protest as their daily lives are affected.

In response, a spokesperson for the Adani Group stated that the boundary wall issue was caused by heavy rains and that maintenance teams have been working on repairs, which have been delayed due to bad weather. The spokesperson assured that residents have been kept informed and that additional security measures, including round-the-clock surveillance, have been implemented to address safety concerns.
