buyers Protest Over Hero Homes Possession Delay in Gurugram

Frustrated homebuyers of Hero Homes, located in Sector 104, Gurugram, staged a protest on Sunday at the project site, voicing their concerns over the Hero Homes possession delay. Equipped with banners and slogans, the homebuyers criticized the developer for the lack of transparency and communication regarding the project’s completion timeline.

Protesters carried banners that conveyed their dissatisfaction with messages like “No Home to Stay, No Builder to Talk” and “Unfulfilled Promises, Unhappy Homeowners.” The primary demand of the protesters was for the developer to deliver the promised amenities as committed during the first phase of the project, which has also seen a Hero Homes possession delay.

Six Years of Waiting and Growing Frustration

Homebuyers, some of whom have been waiting for their homes for six years, expressed their dismay at the ongoing Hero Homes possession delay. According to Mahesh Kumar, one of the protesting buyers, there has been no substantial communication since February. Despite multiple attempts to reach the developer, they received only vague assurances without any concrete timelines.
In addition to the financial strain of paying both rent and EMIs, buyers are also troubled by the developer’s imposition of penalties for delayed payments, while no compensation has been offered for the project’s delay. Many buyers have already paid nearly 90% of their flat’s cost, adding to their financial burden.

Minimal Progress and a Silent Response

Despite a large turnout at the protest, no representative from the developer’s office addressed the buyers’ grievances. The developer’s staff reportedly shut the gates and increased security measures instead.

According to Manoj Khandelwal, another protester, despite an Occupation Certificate (OC) application submitted in February, there has been little progress on the project. Jatti Bhatia, another buyer, pointed out that minimal construction activity has been observed in recent months, further fueling the buyers’ frustration.

Hero Realty’s Response

A spokesperson from Hero Realty clarified that the developer is committed to prioritizing customer needs. According to the statement, Phase 1 of the project, which includes four towers, has been completed. The company has submitted all necessary documents for obtaining the OC, and once granted, the process of handing over possession will begin.

A Wait That Continues

As buyers await the long-overdue handover of their flats, the financial and emotional toll continues to mount. The protest serves as a stark reminder of the growing frustration among homebuyers in delayed real estate projects across Gurugram.
