PMAY Urban Uttar Pradesh: 95% of Homes Completed by 2024

As of December 30, 2024, PMAY Urban Uttar Pradesh has made remarkable progress, with 95% of the 17,76,823 homes that were sanctioned under the scheme now completed. That’s a total of 16,71,083 homes already built, helping to provide shelter for countless families in need across the state.

Urban Development Minister AK Sharma highlighted the government’s dedication to transparency and sincerity in making this happen. “A home is not just a place with four walls and a roof. It’s the place where families dream of a brighter future. Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, we’ve worked to turn those dreams into reality for people across every section of society,” he said.

Beyond just providing shelter, the scheme is helping families save money that they would have spent on rent. This has opened up opportunities for investing in children’s education, health, and overall well-being. It’s also been a major step towards economic equality, giving people from all walks of life the chance to own homes and live side by side in harmony.

A standout feature of the scheme is its focus on women. The policy requires that the female head of the family be the owner or co-owner of the house. This provision has not only given women a sense of security but has also inspired many to explore new career paths and contribute to their family’s income.

While there were some initial challenges, especially before the Yogi Adityanath government took office, the state has worked tirelessly since 2017 to make PMAY Urban Uttar Pradesh a success. With only 5% of the project remaining, Minister Sharma reassured that the government is committed to finishing it soon.

Through PMAY Urban Uttar Pradesh, many families are experiencing a positive transformation in their lives, moving toward a future where they can thrive in a home they own.
