Noida Sector 145 Protest: Residents Demand Plot Handover After 8-Year Delay

Residents of Noida’s Sector 145 have been protesting against the Noida Authority due to an eight-year delay in the handover of their residential plots and the lack of development in the sector. This Noida Sector 145 protest highlights the residents’ frustration and their call for immediate intervention.

Organized by the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector 145, the demonstration saw senior citizens, men, women, and children participating, all carrying banners and posters demanding action. Latsahab Lohia, the president of Sector 145 RWA, articulated the community’s discontent, stating, “We are tired of the Noida Authority’s endless excuses and lack of transparency. They have taken all our life savings and failed to provide our rightful plots and develop the sector.”

The delay has impacted around 2,250 plots, affecting an estimated 15,000 people who have been waiting for the handover since their registries were completed about eight years ago. Despite assurances from officials after a similar protest in 2021, no tangible progress has been made. According to Subhash Bhati, the RWA’s vice president, some officials have indicated that there are no legal obstacles, only procedural delays caused by the authority and the district administration.

The Noida Sector 145 protest has called for immediate action and a concrete timeline for the handover and development of the sector, emphasizing that their patience has worn thin after years of unfulfilled promises. The RWA also wrote a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s office, urging immediate intervention to resolve the issue.

The Noida Authority officials could not be reached for comments on the matter, further fueling the residents’ dissatisfaction and the ongoing Noida Sector 145 protest.
