Gautam Buddh Nagar Administration Issues Notices to Mahagun, Ajnara, and Migsun

The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has taken a decisive step in response to numerous complaints from flat buyers against real estate developers. In a meeting involving flat buyers, builders, senior administrators, and officers from the registration department, the district administration discussed issues such as delays in possession and registries of flats.

District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma stated that notices would be issued to several builders, including Mahagun, Ajnara, and Migsun, to address the complaints related to their housing projects. If their responses are deemed unsatisfactory, legal actions, including sealing of their premises, may be taken. The administration has received complaints against several builders, but a significant number of issues discussed in the meeting are related to these three builders.

Additional DM Atul Kumar has been assigned the responsibility of following up on the actions decided upon in the meeting. Flat buyers highlighted to the district magistrate that despite paying the full amount for their flats, the units were not being registered by the builders. In response, the DM sought explanations from the concerned builders.

The builders cited non-availability of OCs (Occupancy Certificates) from local authorities as the reason for the delay in registering flats. The DM instructed the builders to ensure immediate registration for flats where OCs have been received and to expedite obtaining OCs for pending units. He also emphasized not to harass flat buyers unnecessarily.

Moreover, the DM directed officials of the Stamp and Registration Department to take action to increase the stamp revenue of the district, as per the Uttar Pradesh government’s intentions. Many builders have given possession to flat buyers without registering the units, leading to a loss of stamp revenue, which the administration aims to rectify.
